There is a little known hillock just a km from GundiMane giving a bird’s eye view of the surroundings. Being so close to the Homestay, the Sunrise and Sunset are best viewed from this place. Forest department has even built a watch tower over there. You can see Talaguppa, Sagar and even Hosanagar. These places once just 15-20 kms from this homestay, are now farther by 50-80 kms courtesy the Sharavathi backwater, visible in its full splendour.

This is a must-visit for anybody who comes to GundiMane. It’s just a stroll away from the Homestay and can be visited any time during the day. It’s also a place for birding enthusiasts where you can lose yourself hearing them chirp. Since this place is hardly known, it retains the pristineness and the exclusivity it so richly deserves. Hence, some folks have even chosen it for their pre-marriage photo shoots.
