No doubt Jogfalls is the main attraction but there are other places which are equally enchanting. Being in the heart of the Western Ghats, there are a host of unexplored, raw places in and around GundiMane. There is a little known Hillock nearby, which is just a km from GundiMane giving a bird’s eye view of the surroundings. Water sports are conducted by Jungle Lodges at the Talakalale reservoir, just 19 kms from GundiMane. GundiMane is also a home to varied species of bird life.
Gundimane Homestay is centrally located to some of those interesting places like hill stations, beaches, temples, waterfalls, historical places etc. There is an ancient fort called “Kanoor Kote”, 30kms, which is a good site for people interested in history and archaeology. Visiting this fort may require permission from the forest department though. The well known Linganamakki dam is around 10kms. The famous Kodachadri, which is a must-trek for every trekker, is around 85kms. If required, we can arrange for vehicles to move around these places. Some places you can reach and come back on the same day are listed below.
